Materials: Genuine, solid Bronzite and Argentium Sterling Silver.
Argentium Sterling silver is a modern sterling silver alloy. It is a true Sterling silver and contains 92.5% silver just as all other Sterling Silvers do, however it has many advantages over normal Sterling Silver. Traditional Sterling is made with a 7.5% copper alloy to give it enough hardness to create jewelry with. Argentium Sterling Silver instead has an alloy of Germanium. This means that Argentium Sterling Silver is extremely tarnish resistant, is somewhat harder to scratch, and does not cause allergies in for most people that are sensitive to Sterling Silver. Nearly everyone that suffers from allergy problems with traditional Sterling Silver find that they do not experience problems with Argentium Sterling Silver. Further, because Argentium Sterling Silver does not produce firescale, it does not require chemical treatments like traditional sterling silver does and therefore is far more environmentally friendly.
Stone quality/specs: Bronzite is an iron-rich stone with flecks of metallic reflective areas, and is a slightly chatoyant stone, which means that planes within the stone reflect light. The effect on this stone is similar to the 'glitter' of fine polished granite.
Description: This is a new stone for me, but an appealing one for those that love earth tones. Lovely shades of bronze flicker in this stone and it is especially pretty in sunlight. It's a lovely thick-cut stone but is not overly heavy for its size (compared to materials such as hematite).
Recommended necklace size: This pendant does not come with a chain/necklace. This pendant will look nice on any size chain or collar.
Size: Please see above photo for dimensions. Pendant is pictured with a U.S. Dime for size reference. (Hint: if you are having a hard time picturing the size of this pendant, scale the above photo so that the dime is the size of a real dime on your screen. The pendant will then be at actual size.)
