Materials: Genuine, solid hematite and Argentium Sterling Silver.
Argentium Sterling silver is a modern sterling silver alloy. It is a true Sterling silver and contains 92.5% silver just as all other Sterling Silvers do, however it has many advantages over normal Sterling Silver. Traditional Sterling is made with a 7.5% copper alloy to give it enough hardness to create jewelry with. Argentium Sterling Silver instead has an alloy of Germanium. This means that Argentium Sterling Silver is extremely tarnish resistant, is somewhat harder to scratch, and does not cause allergies in for most people that are sensitive to Sterling Silver. Nearly everyone that suffers from allergy problems with traditional Sterling Silver find that they do not experience problems with Argentium Sterling Silver. Further, because Argentium Sterling Silver does not produce firescale, it does not require chemical treatments like traditional sterling silver does and therefore is far more environmentally friendly.
Stone quality/specs: Large oval-cut hematite with excellent polish on both sides. Hematite is an ore of iron and as such is heavier than most precious and semi-precious gemstones. This is not 'magnetic-hematite'.
Description: A very classy, dark and powerful mineral, this hematite pendant is no exception. It is largely featureless, and is a solid steely-black stone with great lustre and polish. A heavier pendant.
Recommended necklace size: This pendant does not come with a chain/necklace. This pendant will look nice on any size chain or collar.
Size: Please see above photo for dimensions. Pendant is pictured with a U.S. dime for scale reference. Hint: to view pendant at actual size, increase or decrease your browser font until the dime on the screen matches the side of a real dime.
