Materials: Genuine, solid lapis lazuli and Argentium Sterling Silver.
Argentium Sterling silver is a modern sterling silver alloy. It is a true Sterling silver and contains 92.5% silver just as all other Sterling Silvers do, however it has many advantages over normal Sterling Silver. Traditional Sterling is made with a 7.5% copper alloy to give it enough hardness to create jewelry with. Argentium Sterling Silver instead has an alloy of Germanium. This means that Argentium Sterling Silver is extremely tarnish resistant, is somewhat harder to scratch, and does not cause allergies in for most people that are sensitive to Sterling Silver. Nearly everyone that suffers from allergy problems with traditional Sterling Silver find that they do not experience problems with Argentium Sterling Silver. Further, because Argentium Sterling Silver does not produce firescale, it does not require chemical treatments like traditional sterling silver does and therefore is far more environmentally friendly.
Stone quality/specs: Solid Lapis Lazuli. Lapis Lazuli is a semi-precious gemstone known for its lovely blue color. This stone has an excellent polish on the front of the domed cabochon but is unpolished on the back.
Description: A very, very blue lapis! Now, the less pyrite (metallic gold) the lapis has, the more value it holds. I personally like the look of pyrite mixed in, but this stone only has a few tiny dots of it, you can see them in the photo above, they look like gold flecks of dust. Despite my love of pyrite mixed in, this is a very fine, high quality stone.
Recommended necklace size: This pendant does not come with a chain/necklace. This pendant will look nice on any size chain.
