Materials: Genuine, solid opal and Argentium Sterling Silver.
Argentium Sterling silver is a modern sterling silver alloy. It is a true Sterling silver and contains 92.5% silver just as all other Sterling Silvers do, however it has many advantages over normal Sterling Silver. Traditional Sterling is made with a 7.5% copper alloy to give it enough hardness to create jewelry with. Argentium Sterling Silver instead has an alloy of Germanium. This means that Argentium Sterling Silver is extremely tarnish resistant, is somewhat harder to scratch, and does not cause allergies in for most people that are sensitive to Sterling Silver. Nearly everyone that suffers from allergy problems with traditional Sterling Silver find that they do not experience problems with Argentium Sterling Silver. Further, because Argentium Sterling Silver does not produce firescale, it does not require chemical treatments like traditional sterling silver does and therefore is far more environmentally friendly.
Stone quality/specs: A nicely polished Australian white opal with fair colorplay. There is some host ironstone matrix (the stone that surrounds the opal) across the upper part of this opal, creating a nice rusty red pattern. This is a solid opal (not a doublet or triplet). No blemishes or flaws.
Description: This itty opal has some nice personality! The upper part has some ironstone mixed in and the bottom has some pinpoint flickering multicolor fire. The fire is tiny and glittery, but viewable from most angles. This is a LITTLE pendant!
