Large Ammolite Pendant This is a stunning large and vibrant piece of ammolite set with .925 sterling silver wire.Ammolite is formed when the fossilized shells of ammonites (an extinct aquatic creature that lived millions of years ago) were crushed over millions of years, and the mother-of-pearl shells were impregnated with other trace elements to create fascinating flashes of color. This piece of ammolite has a gorgeous crackle-pattern that flashes with strong colors. The stone is mostly red (it can appear bronze in some light) with a vibrant streak of bright green, and finally a tiny hint of blue at the bottom tip. It's very pretty and large- any ammolite jewelry collector knows that larger pieces of ammolite are becoming more and more rare. This is a solid piece of ammolite, NOT a doublet.
