Materials: Genuine, solid labradorite and Argentium Sterling Silver.
Argentium Sterling silver is a modern sterling silver alloy. It is a true Sterling silver and contains 92.5% silver just as all other Sterling Silvers do, however it has many advantages over normal Sterling Silver. Traditional Sterling is made with a 7.5% copper alloy to give it enough hardness to create jewelry with. Argentium Sterling Silver instead has an alloy of Germanium. This means that Argentium Sterling Silver is extremely tarnish resistant, is somewhat harder to scratch, and does not cause allergies in for most people that are sensitive to Sterling Silver. Nearly everyone that suffers from allergy problems with traditional Sterling Silver find that they do not experience problems with Argentium Sterling Silver. Further, because Argentium Sterling Silver does not produce firescale, it does not require chemical treatments like traditional sterling silver does and therefore is far more environmentally friendly.
Stone quality/specs: High polish labradorite with good colorplay. Note that labradorite is a chatoyant (irridescent) stone. The colors are created by light refracting within layers in the stone, and so the colors you see depend on the viewing angle. Some stones only show color from some angles. Keep in mind that these photos are meant to try and show these colors! Some stones only show the colors as photoed above from certain viewing directions. This stone in particular is a great stone with colorplay from several angles.
Description: This is a unique stone that I've been holding onto for some time. One side shows a lovely rolling flash of very bright pale green from many angles and is truly lovely. The other side however is a bit strange. There are natural stone inclusions that formed within the labradorite that rise to the surface polish. They look like islands in a sea of pale green! The effect is actually quite beautiful and very unique. The 'islands' are a rich green color, but are not chatoyant (reflective) so they really stand out. This is a stone I wanted to keep simply as a collectible! You can wear this pendant with either side 'up'.
Please take a look at the Video demonstrating the flash in this stone:
