Materials: Genuine, solid moonstone and Argentium Sterling Silver.
Argentium Sterling silver is a modern sterling silver alloy. It is a true Sterling silver and contains 92.5% silver just as all other Sterling Silvers do, however it has many advantages over normal Sterling Silver. Traditional Sterling is made with a 7.5% copper alloy to give it enough hardness to create jewelry with. Argentium Sterling Silver instead has an alloy of Germanium. This means that Argentium Sterling Silver is extremely tarnish resistant, is somewhat harder to scratch, and does not cause allergies in for most people that are sensitive to Sterling Silver. Nearly everyone that suffers from allergy problems with traditional Sterling Silver find that they do not experience problems with Argentium Sterling Silver. Further, because Argentium Sterling Silver does not produce firescale, it does not require chemical treatments like traditional sterling silver does and therefore is far more environmentally friendly.
Stone quality/specs: High polish moonstone with excellent colorplay. Note that moonstone is a chatoyant (irridescent) stone. The colors are created by light refracting within layers in the stone, and so the colors you see depend on the viewing angle. Some stones only show color from some angles. Keep in mind that these photos are meant to try and show these colors. This is a great stone with colorplay from most angles.
Description: Holy cats! This is a moonstone I was very excited to get. Finding one with such beautiful colorplay and transparency is uncommon. This stone has a violently electric blue flash in a series of horizontal bars that appear in the middle of it, like a hologram. It is otherwise very crystaline to look at- very clear, especially near the bottom. I held this stone up to some printed text so that you may see how clear it is. Because of this, the color shirt you wear will have a direct influence on how the stone looks! Note above, how the stone looks against the dark background vs. the palm of my hand. Wearing green? This stone will take on a green hue. Etc. The blue will stand out more against darker backgrounds. It has a great polish on both sides, and while one side wears better as the 'front', there is nothing wrong with wearing it with either side facing. A stunner, to be sure.
Please take a look at the Video demonstrating the flash in this stone:
