Materials: Genuine, solid labradorite and Argentium Sterling Silver.
Argentium Sterling silver is a modern sterling silver alloy. It is a true Sterling silver and contains 92.5% silver just as all other Sterling Silvers do, however it has many advantages over normal Sterling Silver. Traditional Sterling is made with a 7.5% copper alloy to give it enough hardness to create jewelry with. Argentium Sterling Silver instead has an alloy of Germanium. This means that Argentium Sterling Silver is extremely tarnish resistant, is somewhat harder to scratch, and does not cause allergies in for most people that are sensitive to Sterling Silver. Nearly everyone that suffers from allergy problems with traditional Sterling Silver find that they do not experience problems with Argentium Sterling Silver. Further, because Argentium Sterling Silver does not produce firescale, it does not require chemical treatments like traditional sterling silver does and therefore is far more environmentally friendly.
Stone quality/specs: High polish labradorite with excellent colorplay. Note that labradorite is a chatoyant (irridescent) stone. The colors are created by light refracting within layers in the stone, and so the colors you see depend on the viewing angle. Some stones only show color from some angles. Keep in mind that these photos are meant to try and show these colors! Some stones only show the colors as photoed above from certain viewing directions. This stone in particular is a great stone with colorplay from most angles.
Description: What a cool stone! Overall the colors show up as a nice bright orange, but there is a fun spot of very rich, pure lue in the lower section. This stone has a polish on both sides and can be worn with either side 'up' however the back of this pendant has very little flash and appears dark overall. The front is the pretty side.
Please take a look at the Video demonstrating the flash in this stone:
