Materials: Solid carved Burma Jadeite Jade and Argentium Sterling Silver.
Argentium Sterling silver is a modern sterling silver alloy. It is a true Sterling silver and contains 92.5% silver just as all other Sterling Silvers do, however it has many advantages over normal Sterling Silver. Traditional Sterling is made with a 7.5% copper alloy to give it enough hardness to create jewelry with. Argentium Sterling Silver instead has an alloy of Germanium. This means that Argentium Sterling Silver is extremely tarnish resistant, is somewhat harder to scratch, and does not cause allergies in for most people that are sensitive to Sterling Silver. Nearly everyone that suffers from allergy problems with traditional Sterling Silver find that they do not experience problems with Argentium Sterling Silver. Further, because Argentium Sterling Silver does not produce firescale, it does not require chemical treatments like traditional sterling silver does and therefore is far more environmentally friendly.
Stone quality/specs: Solid Burma Jadeite Jade, carved into leaf shapes. Well polished with a glossy lustre on both sides. This jade, unlike pieces I have sold in the past, has been certified as Burma Jadeite jade, which is genuine jade (not nephrite) mined in Burma. It is semi-translucent Grade A Jadeite (no treatments other than waxing), and is pale green in color. It is the Rice variety, which refers to the semi-translucent glutinous rice like inner texture.
Description: After the other jade leaves I had got so much attention, I wanted to go the extra mile and fine genuine Jadeite jade leaves to sell. These are a precious gemstone and while they are small, the are distinctly beautiful.Beautiful dainty hand-carved jadeite leaves which have a jade bead carved from the same solid piece of stone. The bead is free in the bale area and will move as you do.
Each of these pendants is different! Please take careful note of which you want when you order!
Recommended necklace size: This pendant does not come with a chain/necklace. This pendant will look nice on any size chain or collar but wears best on a fine or small chain or string. I have been told it is good luck to wear jade on a red cord (or heavy red string).
Size: Please see above photo for dimensions. Pendant is pictured with a U.S. Dime for size reference. (Hint: if you are having a hard time picturing the size of this pendant, scale the above photo so that the dime is the size of a real dime on your screen. The pendant will then be at actual size.)
